Why NBCCN?

There are many people in America today who don't attend church. The majority of these people report that they do not attend church because the teaching is irrelevant and the worship services are boring. And at the same time, many of these respondents would confess that they are looking for something that would give them direction and provide a sense of fulfillment in living their lives and raising their families.

At New Beginnings Community Church, our commitment to you is to:

  • Offer biblical teaching that is practical and relevant to where you live on a daily basis.
  • Provide a worship experience that is meaningful and uplifting.
  • Create an environment where meaningful relationships can be established.
  • Bring people out of a life of discouragement, fear and mistrust.
  • Provide an atmosphere conducive to healing the hurts encountered in life.

A healthy person makes a healthy home, a healthy marriage, a healthy family, a healthy church, and a healthy community.

In a value-less society, we, at New Beginnings, are committed to providing you and your family with a solid set of values aimed at promoting personal and family spiritual health and emotional well being.

We all need to believe in something or we'll fall for anything. You owe it to yourself to check out New Beginnings Community Church.

Who We Are

A church that is open to the community. A church which has as its source the authority of God's Word, the Bible, and we are a church of Jesus Christ. We believe that God is our loving heavenly Father who has revealed Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The goal of our worship services is to encourage people to have a dynamic and life changing encounter with Jesus Christ through song, praise, and the ministry of the Word.

About Pastor Mark

Hi! I'm Mark Valadez. Let me share my dream with you. I believe God has placed a desire in my life to serve the people of the Nipomo Community.

My wife, Becky, and I met at Arroyo Grande High School in 1977. We continued our education in Colorado where I began my ministry with youth. I have also been youth pastor in New Mexico, at New Life in Pismo, and at SLONAZ (our sending church). I preached and pastored for 7 years in Ojai and feel the pull to return to this area of service.

Since having our children, Becky and I realize the need to be "equipped" parents. What better way than to teach and learn from others in a safe and loving environment at New Beginnings Community Church?

I believe people rarely remember a word that is preached—gleaning a nugget here and there that they may cling to for life. But, people always remember that you love them and the example that you set.

It is my desire to build a relational, Jesus-centered, family-style church. Won't you join us on our journey to becoming the healthy church body that God intended us to be?!

Our Mission

To celebrate Christ; to cultivate personal growth in Christ; to care about one another in Christ; and to communicate to others about Christ. Our prayer is to be a church that is upward in worship, inward in commitment, and outward in evangelism.

Our Desire

A Heart For The Lord (2 Chronicles 16:9) which is reflected when we are committed to Worship (John 4:24), the Word Of God (Psalm 119:11), and Prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

A Heart For The Lord's People (Galatians 6:1-10) which is reflected when we are committed to Right Relationships (Romans 12:18), Encouragement Of Others (1 Thessalonians 5:11), and A Servant Lifestyle (1 Timothy 1:12).

A Heart For The Lost (John 20:31) which is reflected when we are committed to Lifestyle Evangelism (John 17:18), Discipleship Of New Belivers (Colossians 1:8), and World Missions (Acts 1:8).

Exist or Thrive?

There's more to life than just making a living--watching children play, getting a good back rub, laughing till you cry... Are you taking time to enjoy life?

At New Beginnings Community Church we're about helping you get more out of life by deepening your relationships, strengthening your spirit and focusing your perspective. Careers are temporary, but life is eternal. Begin getting more out of your life at New Beginnings.

January 29, 2007

Good day! I trust you had a good weekend! I did. Yesterday we took a look at our hearts and our mindset.

Romans 6:20-23 says, “In those days, when you were slaves of sin, you weren’t concerned with doing what was right. And what was the result? It was not good, since now you are ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Slavery in the United States was abolished by the Thirteenth Amendment, December 18, 1865. How many slaves were there on December 19? In reality, none, but how many still lived like slaves? Thought like slaves? A lot! Why? Because they never learned the truth. They didn’t know the truth. Others knew and even believed they were free, but they chose to continue living as they had always been taught.

Hosea 4:6a says, “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know Me.”

We live what we know. We live what we believe. If we believe we’re slaves, we’ll live in bondage. If we believe we’re free, we’ll live like people who are free. Jesus says in John 8:31, 32 that when we learn and know the truth, Jesus, that the truth (Jesus) will set us free. The more we KNOW Him, the more AWESOME we realize He is, the more freedom we realize is there.

We don’t HAVE TO sin. Sin is a choice. God gives us HIS POWER to live a part from sin. If we didn’t KNOW that, we know it now! :o)

Matt Redman was a worship leader at a big church. There were conflicts in the music department. He was part of that conflict. People in the choir were upset that this person got to sing a solo and they didn’t. The musicians were upset that they didn’t get to play more (they had a rotation system), or play this song or that. So, the senior pastor said there would be no more music in the church until every person got their hearts right, got the right mindset. From this experience Matt wrote the song “Heart of Worship.”

Part of the song says, “I”ll bring You more than a song, for a song in itself is not what You have required. You search much deeper within, through the way things appear, You’re looking into my heart. I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about You, it’s all about You Jesus. I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it, when it’s all about You.”

In all we do, our attitude should be, “God, not my will, but Yours.” I’m thankful that when we started the church 4 plus years ago, God blessed us with a man (his family too!) that has a heart for worship, Bryan Archambeault. We aren’t into performance at New Beginnings, we’re into God and people. Bryan’s desire is to bring us into God’s presence. God is the focal point.

And over the years to the present, God has blessed us with musicians/singers/sound techs with that same attitude (otherwise they wouldn’t be up there). To those of you in the present and the recent past, Bob, Pete, Les, Linda, Tina, Bo, Kathy, Jeremy, Joella, Jared and Christina, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best!!!!!

To all the of you who make New Beginnings happen every week-set up, take down, teaching, coffee, donuts, prayer, finances, children, teens, adults, etc. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the best!!!!!!

Our desire is to have the right mindset, to have a heart of worship, so we move from a “slavery” mindset to an “all about God” mindset! That only happens through prayer and Bible study. Today is a new day. You are a winner! Live like a winner! Believe it, receive it, live it. Learn it and know it!
